The Minerals In Coral Calcium

Coral calcium harvested from the reefs of Okinawa contains the optimum ratio of calcium to magnesium, 2:1, which is 24% calcium to 12% magnesium. However, it also contains more than 70 trace minerals. Although coral calcium contains many minerals, it is also important to know the chemical form of the elements within the coral.

Many of the elements which are in coral calcium are present in a form that is easily absorbed by the human body. This makes it easy for proper biological functioning to take place regarding these elements. When acting on body functions, many minerals tend to oppose each other in a harmonious form of chemical balance. This is called chemical antagonism.

One of the minerals found in coral calcium is iron. Second only to calcium, iron is the most abundant mineral in the human body. It is essential for maintaining oxygen levels. Iron allows the oxygen to be transported and stored in muscles and blood. It is also a main component of hemoglobin in the red blood cells. Other elements such as magnesium, copper, calcium, and zinc compete with iron for absorption into the body.

For the human body to properly utilize and absorb minerals a number of biological and chemical factors must take place. One of the most important factors is to achieve a regular and optimal intake of both the major and minor essential minerals. How the human body efficiently uses the minerals is dependent on the chemical form in which they are taken

If minerals are taken in a solution of water, their ionic form, the body is able to process them more efficiently. For example, if coral calcium is added to pure water a large portion of the mineral content becomes ionic. Within seconds of entering the stomach, much of the coral becomes ionized and is ready for absorption by the body.

Some of the other minerals found in coral calcium include boron, chromium, cobalt, cesium, copper, he fluoride, gold, iodine, lithium, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, potassium sodium chloride, phosphorus, selenium, silicon, sulfur, vanadium, and zinc. There are also many other trace minerals.

The minerals found in coral calcium are necessary for the human body to function and remain healthy.
